For many years, Fr. John Riccardo has been changing people’s lives through his program, Christ is the Answer, on Ave Maria Radio. This month, two major things are happening for listeners of Christ is the Answer: Fr. John is launching his new book, The Resistance: God’s Plan for Renewing the Human Family, releasing September 29, 2026 as his first book with a major publisher—and we are holding our Fall Pledge Drive, a critical part of our ability to continue producing and broadcasting shows like Christ is the Answer.
We will be sending Fr. John’s new book to donors, along with the Prayer of Spiritual Canopy—a prayer card that many on our own team have found invaluable—to those who give generously.
The Fulton Sheen Challenge
Bishop Fulton J. Sheen will be beatified later this month. Fewer people know that, alongside his tremendous work proclaiming the Gospel, Sheen was appointed National Director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith—a role in which, over sixteen years, he raised roughly $200 million for the missions (nearly $2.1 billion in today’s dollars). He personally gave away more than $10 million of his own media earnings, and left 40% of his estate to continue that work.
In honor of his legacy, we are including free Bishop Sheen prayer cards for anyone who calls in during the Pledge Drive. We also invite you to join the Fulton Sheen Challenge: if you are able to offer a large gift of $1,000 or more as a matching pledge, follow in Bishop Sheen’s footsteps and make that gift today.
