A study in prayer for men seeking to travel ‘farther along’ the path of prayer--who seek
their next step closer to God in prayer and a fuller share of the fruits thereof. Meeting online
twice a month, Tim DiLaura, third order Carmelite formator, will provide formation on
advancing in the transformative stages of prayer—the interior journey to live out the power
and mystery of Paul’s words: ‘It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.’ (Gal 2:20). Each
session will include formation, fielding of questions, commentary, witnesses, a reading and
reflection exercise, and support to your personal prayer. Formation will be supported by
readings from St. John of the Cross—Master of Contemplation by Fr. Donald Haggerty.

• How can I make prayer a higher priority? • What does it mean to advance in prayer?
• What is a masculine interior life? • What is contemplative prayer?
• What are the stages of the motivation to pray? • What is God asking me to in my prayer life?
To learn more and discern joining the series, you are invited to an online ‘meet and greet’ introductory session on Tuesday, September 15th at 8 PM where it will be explained how this study can support you personally in a more mature prayer life. An initial Advent series of sessions will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of October, November, and December from 8 to 9:30 PM.
