  • Putting Faith to Work Linked to Job Satisfaction.

(H/T PsychCentral) Regular attendance in a church that stresses faith as a component of work is associated with high job satisfaction and employment commitment. Baylor University sociologists discovered the influence depends in part on how involved that person is in the congregation, not merely on occasional attendance. “We already knew that about 60 percent of [Read More...]

When we choose to create this kind of communion and connection in our families, we discover that joy, hope, and Christian perfection grow – not only in each of the family members individually but in the family as a mystical person. Others around us can’t help but look at our families and sigh, “Look at those Christians, how they love.” This is why John Paul II saw the family as crucial to the future of humanity: without strong, loving families, society will drift and suffer. • Tabor Life institute - The Tabor Life Institute is dedicated to the sacramental-liturgical worldview of the human person and of the entire created order. This is a worldview which in fact holds the answer to all of life’s questions precisely because it is the most honest and fully integrated vision of reality. The sacramental-liturgical worldview, therefore, has an immense capacity to liberate and to transform people’s lives, at times even instantly. Pope John Paul II’s theology of the body is the principle delivery system for this sacramental, liturgical worldview. Along with the teachings of Pope John Paul II, the Tabor Life institute incorporates the sum total of the spiritual wisdom of the Church both east and west, irrefutable science, personal testimonies, and common sense in presentations that are fully integrated and comprehensive. The Tabor Life Institute presenters come from both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Catholic spiritual and liturgical traditions. This greatly contributes to Tabor’s special capacity for fully integrated presentations of the sacramental-liturgical worldview. The Tabor Life Institute specializes in compassionately yet forthrightly bringing honesty, clarity and perspective to the most controversial and delicate issues related to the entire experience of human sexuality. Therefore, youth, disenfranchised Christians and non-believers are a particular concern and focus of our work. The Tabor Life Institute was founded in 2003 by Catherine Baranko who serves as its current President. We are also members of TOBIA, (Theology of the Body International Alliance.) • The Catholic Girl's Survival Guide for the Single Years - Three parts sexual license, two parts corporate ladder, with a dash of Monolo Blahnik. If a woman’s single years were a cocktail, that would be the culture’s preferred recipe. Alternatively, there’s two parts husband-hunting novena, one part weeping and gnashing of teeth, with a generous splash of "Offer It Up"—a concoction that makes for a more sanctifying albeit equally unsatisfying brew. Then, there’s this book. Equal parts fun and faithful, The Catholic Girl’s Survival Guide is chock full of practical insights on the nitty-gritty “how to” of the single years, helping women address some of the most pressing questions on their plate, including: Why am I still single? Is there any such thing as a “Single Vocation”? What is authentic femininity and what’s so great about it in the first place? How do I date as an adult without losing my sanity or my soul? Why shouldn’t I throw in the towel on chastity? How do I make decisions about school, work, and finances when there's no husband or babies on the immediate horizon? How do I deal with all my married friends and their children? And what does it take to battle the Single Girl Blues? As hopeful as it is honest, The Catholic Girl’s Survival Guide for the Single Years is the perfect companion for women whose journey to “I do” is turning out to be a longer one than they (or their mothers) would have liked.
