“God’s Plan for Growing Up” Mother/Daughter Program

“God’s Plan for Growing Up” Mother/Daughter Program is geared toward girls 10-12 years old. In a casual and fun atmosphere, discussions on growing up, becoming a woman, modesty, sexuality, and the gift of fertility will be interspersed with games, refreshments, and a confidential Question and Answer session. The program will be held in Nouvel High School’s Performing Arts Center.

The cost is $20.00 per family. Girls are also welcome to come with a grandma, aunt, or any important woman in their life. All are welcome, but reservations are required and must be received by Monday, April 20th. For more information, contact Julia Hoving at [email protected] or (989) 272-6981.

Bridget Bearss, RSCJ, Head of School at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, will speak about the order to which she belongs, the Society of the Sacred Heart, its mission of education, and why the order sees education as a justice issue. Sr. Bearss has welcomed Oakland County Latin Mass to the Chapel of the Academy. We are grateful for her hospitality and pleased to have her join with us for this event after High Mass in the Extraordinary Form. Mass begins at 9:45 a.m.

Monastic Experience Weekend

Single Catholic men 18 years of age or older are invited to spend two days (April 10 – 11) at St. Benedict Monastery and participate in liturgies, meals and other activities that are typical in the monastery. In addition to learning more about monastic life, there will be opportunities for personal reflection, reception of the sacrament of reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration. This is not a recruitment event, but an opportunity for men to participate in an experience at the monastery and explore the possibility that monastic life is the Lord’s will in their lives.

Over 20 panels will be on display, including several that will display new research

that would seem to date the shroud back to biblical times and locate it to the holy lands,

explaining every aspect of the Passion of Christ as seen through the Shroud, The Reputed Burial Cloth of Christ.

There will be a 3:00pm Presentation as well as newly released videos that reveal the latest findings

Lennon Pregnancy Center 18th Annual Banquet

Join us for a night of comedy, delicious food, silent auction, and support of the Lennon Pregnancy Center. Our keynote speaker this year is the hilarious, inspirational, and motivational comedian Gordon Douglas. Mr. Douglas is a nationally known speaker from Pennsylvania. His comedic skills took him from the nightclubs in Philadelphia to Hollywood—ending up in ministry! Gordon and his wife Dawn were named Parents of the Year in the state of Pennsylvania in 2009. His comedy mixes real life stories with “off the wall” physical comedy and his own hilarious view of life. Gordon will keep you laughing the entire night while simultaneously building a genuine reverence for the work of pregnancy centers like the Lennon Center.
