Holy Spirit Seminar

Plan to attend the Holy Spirit Seminar at Christ the King Catholic Church 4000 Ava Maria Drive, Ann Arbor. This seminar is a one-day life changing experience. It includes a set of talks on the Holy Spirit, personal prayer to receive more of the anointing of the Holy Spirit for the release the spiritual gifts and grace and power. The seminar echoes the experience of the first Pentecost.
The seminar is on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Registration begins at 8:15 A.M. in the church and the seminar begins with Mass at 9:00 A.M. and continues in the parish center at 10:00 A.M-5:30 P.M. The cost is $15; it includes continental breakfast, lunch and materials. Scholarships are available.

Solanus Casey Center 11th Annual Golf Outing

The Solanus Casey Center, a Capuchin ministry, 11th Annual Golf Outing, Saturday, August 2, at Greystone Golf Club, 67500 Mound Road, Romeo. The 8:30 AM shotgun start will be followed by a 2 pm lunch. The day includes a continental breakfast (7:30-8:30 AM), 18 holes of golf, cart and lunch. Registration is $125 per person. Don’t golf? 21st Annual Benefit on the Bay

21st Annual Benefit on the Bay assists the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Friday, August 22, MacRay Harbor, located on Lake St. Clair, Harrison Township. Featured will be two bands, a live auction, silent auction and drawings. $65 per person includes appetizers, dinner, dancing, beer, wine, and desserts. Ice Cream Social at St. Mary, Manchester

Come to the St. Mary Manchester annual “Ice Cream Social” (a tradition since 1892!) on Thursday, July 24 from 5-8 pm on the front lawn of the church (the “Village Green”), 210 West Main Street, Manchester. Enjoy a great summer meal with all the traditional summer dishes (from Pulled pork and kielbasa to German potato salad and fresh veggies and so much more) plus an ice cream and homemade dessert assortment not to be missed! Strides for Seminarians

Annual costs exceed $30,000 per seminarian for education, room and board. The Eastern Chaldean Catholic Church currently has 10 seminarians in preparation and 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Chaldean Seminarian Fund. Help us keep the faith and support the future of our community! This event is being organized by the Alexander and Gabrielle Mansour Memorial Fund. Tragedy struck the family of John and Ann Mansour in July of 2013 losing their children Alexander (11} and Gabrielle (6) to a devastating boating accident. In the days, weeks and months of mourning,family, friends and the community came together to pray for the Mansours. Eleven-year old Adriana survived the accident suffering severe brain trauma and was in critical condition for months. She is currently progressing and able to attend school. The family took comfort from many, but it was the church, several priests and seminarians that never missed a day to pray with and console the Mansours. The family set up the foundation in memory of their children. Registration for the event can only be done online at www.alexandgabby.com

Dawn Farm Jamboree

Have a great time while supporting a great cause at the annual Dawn Farm Jamboree! The Jamboree is a family event with free admission and free activities for all ages, including great live music by a popular local band; hayrides; pony rides; a moon bounce; lots of games, crafts and activities; animals to pet; tours of the 64 acre working farm; and live and silent auctions and a gift table with a variety of donated goods and services, many at bargain prices! Food and beverages will be available. Our annual “Fellow Traveler” award ceremony will honor a Dawn Farm supporter. Dawn Farm welcomes old friends and new friends to join us for an exciting, fun-filled day, and celebrate the tremendous power of hope, recovery and community in the lives of individuals, families, and our entire society. Funds raised from the sales and auctions will help provide compassionate, competent and hope-filled professional care for individuals who need help and lack resources.
