Theology on Tap is sponsored by area parishes to provide an opportunity for adults age 21 and up to mingle with area clergy to ask questions about their faith, share concerns and reflections. Come join us from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Trillium at 6415 State St. in Saginaw. There will be a cash bar and pizza for which we will ask a donation.

Lenten Retreat with Gary Michuta

St. Matthew Parish will be hosting a one day Lenten Retreat on Saturday, February 28th. We are delighted to have Catholic apologist, Gary Michuta, be our guest speaker. Gary has given hundreds of talks, classes and seminars around the country. He has also written several books and is a frequent guest on Catholic Radio. The day will include two informative talks – “Making Sense of the Mass” and “Mary: God’s Game Changer”. Boxed lunch and refreshments will be provided between presentations. Confession is available at 3:15 and Mass at 4:30. It is essential to RSVP to the parish office (810-232-0880) by February 23rd, in order to have an accurate count for lunch. A goodwill donation of $10 is recommended.

Third Annual Women’s Retreat-The Genius of Womanhood

This is a three-day retreat: March 6, 7 & 8
Retreat Master is Fr Thomas J Loya, Pastor of Annunciation Byzantine Catholic parish in Homer Glen, IL & Host of “Light of the East” heard on WDEO AM 990 & WMAX AM 1440.
Through the teachings of St John Paul II, the eastern Christian spirituality and liturgical tradition and the Scriptures, this retreat will be an immersion into the mystical “why” of womanhood. It is only when we come to know the real “why” that we can come to know the “how.”
Objectives:
1) To come to a more mystical understanding of womanhood and what the Church really says about womanhood;
2) Applying the mystical understanding of womanhood (the genius of womanhood) to the lived experience;
3) To understand womanhood in the context of the prayer of the Church.

Saginaw Catholic Mens Conference ‘Called to be Strong’

10th annual conference sponsored by the Catholic Men’s Fellowship of the Saginaw diocese. Join hundreds of Men for Mass with Bishop Cistone and Catholic evangelists and teacher Vern Robertson of Renewal Ministries and authorr/theologian Dr. John Gresham of St. Louis for a Lenten day of fellowship and challenge to be strong men of faith. The day starts with confessions followed by mass with our bishop. Refreshments and lunch provided of course. Cost is only $25.00 and priests, deacons and youth under the age of 21 are free. Registration available online at the men’s fellowship website.

Sunday February 8th the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma will be hosting and Open House in association with the Year of Consecrated Life.

Immediately following the Open House will be our Community’s Holy Hour, which all are welcome to attend.
