St. Agnes Easter Egg Hunt

Join Father Bob and Father Jan for the Polish Easter Food Blessing and Children’s Easter Egg Hunt. For ages 1 to 10, older ones can help out! Join us in the Main Church for Polish-English basket and food blessing. The Egg Hunt will take place after the blessing under the canopy. FEE- each participant is asked to bring 12 plastic eggs and 1 non-perishable item for the St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank. Please RSVP to the Parish office by April 16th to Robert@StAgnesNaples.org or at 239-592-1949. Volunteers are welcome to assist!

DOV Leaven Conference-Hunger & Homelessness

The 2014 Leaven Conference is fast approaching! Come and hear what the Diocese of Venice is doing to help the hungry and homeless throughout the Diocese, and what you can do to help! The Keynote address on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching on how to combat these issues will be given by Dr. Jonathan Reyes, Executive Director of the USCCB Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development. Dr. Reyes served for a time as Executive Director of Catholic Charities, Denver and prior to that was the founding president of the Augustine Institute. Workshops will be provided by representatives of various organizations that serve the hungry and homeless in Southwest Florida. A special panel will present the surprising truth about who the homeless are in our area. At the conclusion of the conference, Bishop Frank J. Dewane will celebrate the Sunday Vigil Mass.

St Katharine “Swing into Spring” Luncheon and Fashion Show

“Swing into Spring”, St. Katharine Drexel CCW’s Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held on March 29th at the Italian American Club, 4725 Vincennes Blvd, Cape Coral starting at 12:00. Buffet luncheon, entertainment and plenty of prizes included with a Special Raffle of Top Prizes and Fabulous Bag Raffles. The Fashion Show will feature unique fashions by Razzle Dazzle Boutique. Event tickets are $20 per person, with round tables of eight. Raffle Tickets are on sale for a donation of $5 for 2 tickets and $10 for 6 tickets. The drawing for the winners of the Raffle tickets to win one of four top prizes will be held at the event on Saturday, March 29th @ 2:30 pm and the winner does not have to be present. (No contribution is necessary to enter but we depend on your help). Admission tickets and ticket books for Top Prizes will be available for purchase by contacting either Dot Kay 574-1624 or Thelma DeLorenzo 458-0834 with requests.
All women of the parish and community are encouraged to join in the fun and support fundraising efforts for CCW Scholarship Fund and Deserving Charities.

Ave Maria Feast of the Annunciation

The students of Ave Maria University invite all town residents and the general public to join them for their community celebration for the Feast of the Annunciation. There will be an outdoor banquet, live music from the band Scythian, and other festivities.

The event begins after the 5 p.m. Mass Tuesday, March 25, and is held on the university mall across from the Oratory. Sunday attire is recommended. The celebration is one of the premiere events in the town of Ave Maria.

All are welcome, but tickets need to be reserved in advance. Tickets, which include a steak dinner and one drink, are $10 for adults (over age 12), $5 for children aged 5-12 and children under 5 years old are free. Reserve tickets by email to studentaffairs@avemaria.edu.

Mother Teresa Exhibit Hall Opening

Ave Maria University is putting the finishing touches on its exhibition hall dedicated to the life of Mother Teresa and the hall will be open to the public Wednesday, April 2, AMU announced Monday.

The April 2 date is the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa’s dear friend, Blessed Pope John Paul II.

The exhibition hall, located on the northeast corner of Ave Maria Blvd. and Annunciation Circle, will be open during the academic year from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Inside the 3,000-square-foot exhibit space are displays of showing Mother Teresa’s entire life and memorabilia including handwritten letters and a crucifix from her own rosary.
