On Monday, June 23rd, the young adults of Juventutem Michigan are bringing the Catholic Church’s classic Traditional Latin Mass back to St. Thomas the Apostle, Ann Arbor. Local chant-expert Wassim Sarweh (Windsor, ON) will direct a choir of parishioners and young adults who will assist the Mass with the beautiful melodies of Gregorian Chant.
Confessions will be heard before Mass, starting at 6:15 p.m.
6:30 p.m. Rosary will be followed by a brief introduction to the older Mass, which will begin at 7:00 p.m.
In the calendar of Church Year, June 23 is the Vigil of the Feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist, the great saint and “burning and shining light” (John 5:35) that came before Our Lord and prophesied of His coming.
After Mass, on the plaza in front of St. Thomas church, Father will conduct the “blessing of a bonfire” that has long been a tradition before the Baptist’s feast.
After the blessing, attendees will continue the early summer festal celebration at Argiero’s, in Kerrytown.
Camp 9-1-1 is a free, interactive 2-day camp for 8 to 12 year-olds! During the camp, Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics serve as Camp 9-1-1 counselors to guide campers through a variety of interactive experiences.
The Ann Arbor Camp 9-1-1 will be held June 23rd and 24th from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
