Weekend runs from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. B.E. is designed to help the divorced, widows, widowers, and separated people cope with their grief and pain. We know how you feel because we have felt it and lived through it. B.E. was founded by a Catholic nun and her divorced friend. It can help you deal with the natural grief process and offerrs an opportunity, through God, for turning your pain of loss into an experience of positive growth. Independent research published in the Journal of Divorce and Remarriage shows that the impact of a Beginning Experience weekend is more profound and longer lasting than that of support nad informational groups for the single-again. Women tend to assume the role of caregiver, but who cares for the caregiver? We can never nurture our true selves unless we are first healed and rested. Just as Jesus often “retreated”, come and experience rest, healing and wholeness so as to discover and delight in the authentic you.
Fr. Thomas Slowinski has taught at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake. He is known for his outstanding homilies and is presently ministering in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
