Join the Oakland County Latin Mass Association for a celebration of this sacred and timeless liturgy, the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite for the All Souls’ Day Mass. Two Low Masses read simultaneously at the side altars and Solemn High Mass following at 5:00 p.m.
This traditional liturgy, sometimes more commonly referred to as the Tridentine Mass, will be celebrated in Latin, the sacred language of the Mother Church. The Homily will be in English and easy to follow Latin-English Missals will be available. (Re)discover the solemn Latin Mass in all of its beauty.
Main Celebrant for the Solemn High Mass is Rev. Msgr. Ronald T. Browne, chaplain of the Oakland County Latin Mass Association.
Music: The Latin Mass Choir of Windsor’s Assumption Church.
The Stone Chapel is handicap accessible.
12 noon Mass (11:30 am Rosary and 11:00 am Confessions)The World Apostolate of Fatima (Saginaw Division) is sponsoring a First Saturday Mass on April 6th at 12 noon at Holy Family Church at 1525 S. Washington in Saginaw.
Confessions begin at 11:00 am and Rosary will begin at 11:30 am.
On All Souls Day, we not only remember the dead, but we apply our efforts, through prayer, almsgiving, and the Mass, to their release from Purgatory.
There are two plenary indulgences attached to All Souls Day, one for visiting a church and another for visiting a cemetery. (The plenary indulgence for visiting a cemetery can also be obtained every day from November 1-8, and, as a partial indulgence, on any day of the year.)
While the actions are performed by the living, the merits of the indulgences are applicable only to the souls in Purgatory.
Praying for the dead is a Christian obligation. In the modern world, when many have come to doubt the Church’s teaching on Purgatory, the need for such prayers has only increased.
The Church devotes the month of November to prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, and participation in the Mass of All Souls Day is a good way to begin the month.
