The Archdiocese of Detroit and St. Kateri Parish are co-sponsoring a series of three presentations entitled, “St. Kateri Tekakwitha: Her Life, Her World…and Ours.” The speakers are: Fr. Gary, Wright, SJ—University of Detroit Mercy and Ms. Julienne Montour, Mohawk Nation.
Session I, November 18th: Ms. Montour will tell the story of St. Kateri and her people. Familes with children are welcome to attend.
Session II, December 2nd: Fr. Gary Wright will briefly review the history of Native American and Jesuit relationships in the Great Lakes region. He will describe his experiences working with the Lakota people at the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota and how Native American spirituality has impacted his own life.
Session III, December 9th: Both Fr. Gary and Ms. Montour will facilitate an Advent evening of reflection on St. Kateri’s life, how we might deepen our own spirituality, and live out God’s universal call to holiness in our own time.
All sessions begin at 7pm.
