Be Healed: A Guide to Encountering the Powerful Love of Jesus In Your Life

    • Description: "In the tradition of such beloved spiritual teachers as Francis MacNutt and Michael Scanlan, Be Healed: A Guide to Encountering the Powerful Love of Jesus in Your Life offers in book form Bob Schuchts’s popular program for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing through the power of the Holy Spirit and the sacraments. This renowned program for spiritual restoration is steeped in scripture and the wisdom of the Catholic Church. Deeply intimate and vulnerable about his own journey of healing, Catholic therapist Bob Schuchts connects with his readers by sharing the series of betrayals he endured in high school—his father’s infidelity, his parents’ divorce, and his older brother’s drug addiction—and his subsequent seasons of struggle with God and faith."

Saints and Social Justice: A Guide to Changing the World

    • Description: "Societies live and die by their social teaching – history has shown it repeatedly. How they value human life, protect the family and rights of workers, assist the poor, and preserve and care for creation all ultimately make or break their legacy. Though the Catholic Church has consistently held social-justice guidelines, those truths have been largely distorted, misinterpreted, or forgotten. And the world today is paying a high price for that. The lives of 14 saints -- and how their example relates to modern social justice -- are examined in-depth by award-winning author, blogger and speaker, Brandon Vogt, in Saints and Social Justice: A Guide to Changing the World (Our Sunday Visitor, 2014). In keeping with the call to extend mercy and care to the poor, Vogt will donate 100 percent of the book’s royalties to Catholic Charities, USA."

Escape From North Korea: The Untold Story of Asia’s Underground Railroad

    • Description: "From the world’s most repressive state comes rare good news: the escape to freedom of a small number of its people. It is a crime to leave North Korea. Yet increasing numbers of North Koreans dare to flee. They go first to neighboring China, which rejects them as criminals, then on to Southeast Asia or Mongolia, and finally to South Korea, the United States, and other free countries. They travel along a secret route known as the new underground railroad. With a journalist’s grasp of events and a novelist’s ear for narrative, Melanie Kirkpatrick tells the story of the North Koreans’ quest for liberty. Travelers on the new underground railroad include women bound to Chinese men who purchased them as brides, defectors carrying state secrets, and POWs from the Korean War held captive in the North for more than half a century. Their conductors are brokers who are in it for the money as well as Christians who are in it to serve God. The Christians see their mission as the liberation of North Korea one person at a time."

    The Dangers of Redefining Marriage

    • Description: EWTN -- Bishop Robert C. Morlino of Madison said he was “deeply saddened” by a federal ruling that Wisconsin law must recognize “gay marriage,” warning that it endangers the family as a fundamental basis of society. Marriage between a man and a woman is “an element of the very first ‘domino’ of civilization,” the bishop said in a statement. “When that first ‘domino’ falls, everything that is good, true, and beautiful, which is rooted on the natural family, is seriously threatened.” “There can be no question that the best formation for children is in the home of their biological mother and father, generally speaking, and we should always have a greater concern for future generations than we do for ourselves,” he said.
    • Segment Guests:
      • Robert Morlino
        Bishop, Diocese of Madison

Robert Morlino entered seminary for the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus, and was ordained to the priesthood for that Jesuit Province on June 1, 1974. His education includes a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Fordham University, a master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame, the Master of Divinity Degree from the Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, Mass., and a doctorate in Moral Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome, with specialization in fundamental moral theology and bioethics. Bishop Morlino was appointed the Fourth Bishop of Madison on May 23, 2003 and installed on August 1, 2003.
