    Hobby Lobby & Religious Freedom

    • Description: "The close of June saw a victory for religious liberty, albeit a close 5-4 decision in the landmark case involving the Christian-owned business Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. And while sports fans would say, “A win is a win,” many are wondering why there is such backlash on the decision from the progressive left and why it wasn’t a 9-0 slam dunk. Dr. Richard Land says that while religious liberty scored a win in the end, four Supreme Court justices representing a differing cultural pulse of the nation dissented—some strongly—on the decision."
    • Segment Guests:
      • Dr. Richard Land
        President, Southern Evangelical Seminary

Dr. Richard Land is president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, a non-denominational seminary based in Charlotte, NC which offers first-rate educational programs in evangelism and classic apologetics. In addition to his presidency, Dr. Land also teaches courses at the Seminary. Prior to becoming president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, Dr. Land served for twenty five years as the president of The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern Baptist Convention's official entity assigned to address social, moral, and ethical concerns, with particular attention to their impact on American families and their faith.
