Hobby Lobby & Religious Freedom

  • Description: "The close of June saw a victory for religious liberty, albeit a close 5-4 decision in the landmark case involving the Christian-owned business Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. And while sports fans would say, “A win is a win,” many are wondering why there is such backlash on the decision from the progressive left and why it wasn’t a 9-0 slam dunk. Dr. Richard Land says that while religious liberty scored a win in the end, four Supreme Court justices representing a differing cultural pulse of the nation dissented—some strongly—on the decision."
  • Segment Guests:
    • Dr. Richard Land
      President, Southern Evangelical Seminary

Dr. Richard Land is president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, a non-denominational seminary based in Charlotte, NC which offers first-rate educational programs in evangelism and classic apologetics. Prior to becoming president of Southern Evangelical Seminary, Dr. Land served for twenty five years as the president of The Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, the Southern Baptist Convention's official entity assigned to address social, moral, and ethical concerns, with particular attention to their impact on American families and their faith.
